Slavnik

Description of peak:
Slavnik is a scenic mountain rising south of Kozina and west of Podgorje. Podgorje is a village which is a suitable starting point for ascending the mountain.
At the top of Slavnik there is a lookout and a stamp. Just a few steps below the summit is the Tuma hut on Slavnik, which was opened in 1957.
The view from Slavnik is one of the best, because in good weather you can see the Adriatic Sea, the Italian Dolomites, where the Marmolada is the highest, part of the Carnic and Julian Alps, where Triglav stands out, and then through Karawanks to the Kamnik and Savinja Alps. The Golaki, Vremščica and a little more distant Snežnik can be seen in the vicinity.
