Access to the starting point:
Leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Hrušica exit and follow the road towards Kranjska Gora. Just before the village of Dovje, the road branches off to the left and leads to Mojstrana (Vrata, Kot and Krma). Follow the road in the direction of the Vrata valley and follow it to the large parking lot near the Aljaž's home.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the macadam road, which after a 3-minute walk leads to the crossroads at Aljaževem dom. Continue straight ahead in the direction of Triglav, Luknja and Pogačnik's home (right Škrlatica) along the wide path that goes behind the chapel (on the right) and Aljaž's home (on the left) into the lane of a forest. A wide tourist-walking path leads us past the winter bivouac out of the forest, where we see the famous wedge (a monument dedicated to the fallen partisan mountaineers) in front of us. Continue straight ahead (Tominškova cesta on the left) along the path which returns to the forest and leads us to the next crossroads (Tominškova cesta on the left). Continue right in the direction of Pogačnik's home (straight on the path over Prag and Luknja) along the path which begins to climb steeply through the forest. After a few minutes of further walking, cross a short lookout clearing, then return to the forest and start climbing even steeper. At a height of 1300m, you will see a small spring along the way (it dries up in dry periods), after which you will soon leave the forest at the foot of the steep Sovatna. Here the path to the bivouac under Luknja branches off to the left, and we continue straight ahead along the steeper and steeper path. The path continues from grassy slopes to rubbly slopes (take care when descending) and occasionally climbs over a short rocky jump. The Sovatna valley then gradually narrows and the path leads us to a short slightly difficult place (over the Skok). Using fixed safety gear, we climb a step higher, where the steepness eases slightly. Further on, the increasingly scenic route quickly leads to the crossroads at Dovški vratci.
Continue to the right in the direction of Stenar and Križa (to the left Bovški Gamsovec and Pogačnikov dom) along the path which gradually begins to climb towards Stenarski vratace. After a few minutes of ascent, the path splits into two parts, continue left (right Stenar). The path then passes from the scree to slightly exposed slopes, which are traversed in a moderate ascent to the north-west. A rather slippery path leads us higher up to the base of Križa. Here the path climbs steeply and leads to a slightly exposed ridge where, with the help of a scramble and a rope, we climb to the summit of the scenic peak. Dor - Dovška vrata 4:00, Dovška vrata - Križ 1:00.

Pozdrav,
če bo vreme zdržalo, bi šel čez vikend to turo: Vrata - Luknja - Bovški Gamsovec - Križ - Pogačnikov dom - Vrata.
Zanima me predvsem, če je na poti še kaj snežišč, za katera bi potreboval cepin.

Jeklenica na grebenu tik pod vrhom Križa je bila v petek strgana. Prav bi bilo tudi omeniti (in vrisati na nove planinske karte, ki praviloma žal le kopirajo napake starih izdaj), da obstaja tudi direktna markirana povezava, ki od vršnega vznožja Križa po gruščnatem zahodnem pobočju preči direktno na Bovška vratca in se tako izogne vzponu na Križ. Zna biti koristno v dvomljivem vremenu, če imate s sabo majhne otroke ali hodite s psom.

Tista jeklenica na sliki 58 je bila že lansko leto septembra strgana ko sem se tam okrog potepal.

Smo bili predvčeraj tukaj. Ta jeklenica je letos še kar strgana. Le, da je tokrat odneslo še del stene levo od nje, z njo pa markacijo in precejšen del poti pod njo.

Včeraj smo po tej poti sestopali in lahko potrdim da je jeklenica še vedno strgana da so markacije tako redke in dotrajane, da je potebno kar nekaj iznajdljivosti, da najdeš pot navzdol. Malo neprijetno.LP

Slika 54-ta pot v desno na Kriz je zaprta zaradi podora. Gre se malo naprej levo in z druge strani. Sploh je po tej spodnji poti ogromno grusca. Meni je bila bolj vsec pot iz Pogacnikovega doma, ki gre direkt za domom gor.
