Bottom station of Pohorje cable car - Mariborska koča

Access to the starting point:
The lower station of the Pohorje funicular is located on the south side of Maribor in Radván, with a large parking lot next to it. It can be reached from several directions, and there are signposts or icons for Pohorje at major junctions in Maribor. If you arrive in Maribor by the southern inbound road, follow it through Hoče and turn left at the traffic lights at the shopping centres (direction Radvanje), continue along Lackova cesta and follow the signs.
City bus No. 6 also runs to the station below.

Path description:
From the parking lot, cross the stream over a concrete bridge, go around the Pohorská hoist station building on the right and continue uphill on a clearly visible footpath through a meadow parallel to the route of the circular cable car. Above the 2nd pillar, the path turns right, bypasses the forest and curves to the left. The steepness eases a little, you walk along the Čopova track, or in the jargon "after Čopka", and reach the Triangular Glade (* 25 min).
There is an adrenaline park, a little further on is the upper station of the chairlift Radvanje and the lower station of the chairlift Poštela, there is also a summer toboggan run.
At the adrenaline park, turn right up the meadow, the path becomes steeper, to the north side there is a view of Maribor and its distant surroundings, and you arrive at the Luka hut (* 25 min). The hut, which is a catering facility, has a drinking water tap next to the fence, and there are benches and tables on the open terrace.
Follow the path uphill through the middle of the meadow or along the edge of the forest, at the top, at the advertising billboard on the Habakuk hill, the path turns right (* 15 min). The slope eases, the comfortable path follows the route of the Sleme chairlift and leads to the upper station of the Pohorska funicular (20 * min).
The route is easy to follow, turn left on the west side of the parking lot at the upper funicular station and follow the signs. The lagon trail then turns right into the forest, at a crossroads a signpost directs you left (from here it is a 5-minute walk uphill to Mariborski razglednik), part of the way you also walk along Rozika's Forest Learning Trail (yellow-blue markings), the trail passes above the Aparthotel Pohorje (the former Železničarski dom), momentarily approaches the road and then immediately turns into the forest again, and through a settlement of holiday homes it leads you to Mariborska koča (* 40 min).
In contrast to the Jonatanka, the path described is more level and more frequently visited, especially as far as Trikotna jasa or Luka hut, where you will meet many recreational walkers and hikers.
