Access to the starting point:
Osankarica is located in the Slovenian Bistrian Pohorje. Access is possible from Oplotnica, Slovenska Bistrica, Areho, Ruš, Lovrenc na Pohorju and Roga.
Path description:
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday (25. 6. -27. 6. 2010), the Podpeč - Preserje Mountaineering Association organised a trip to Pohorje. Our guide Marko Goršič led us along less known and less visited mountain trails, so we got to know the extent of the Pohorje forests, which certainly make an impression on the visitor.
We took the trail under our feet at Osankarica in the direction of Klopni vrh, and continued on the planned route to the Hut na Pesku. The next point was Rogla, where the two most enthusiastic participants climbed and continued along the ridge, the rest of us planned to head towards Lovrenška jezera without this climb and went on. However, we came across a chairlift and of course took it, so Rogla was not deprived. The two hard-working ones soon caught up with us and we continued our journey together towards Lovrenška jezera, where there is practically no water anymore, but this natural landmark is undoubtedly worth a visit. We continued through the forest reserve towards the Ribnica hut. The next intermediate destination was Pesnik, where three members of the expedition went, the rest of us rested. Together we then went to Grmovškov dom pod Veliko Kopo, and then to the Partisan Home at Kope, from where we descended steeply to Pauček's Partisan Hospital, which was rebuilt this year. We additionally included a visit to Hut Planina na Pohorju and continued in the direction of Hut pod Kremžarjevim vrh. From there, it was just a descent into the valley to Slovenj Gradec, where we rewarded ourselves with the Carinthian speciality of mežrli - highly recommended.
