Parje - Šilentabor

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Koper, take the exit Postojna and then continue in the direction of Ilirska Bistrica. When you arrive in Pivka, leave the main road towards Ilirska Bistrica and continue in the direction of Knežak. Continue through Radohova vas to the village of Parje, where you can park in a suitable place next to the church or the nearby sports ground. There are no parking spaces at the starting point.

Path description:
From the church, go back a few metres towards Pivka, then head west on the narrower road that begins to climb gently through the village. Continue straight through the village, and the asphalt road turns into a stone macadam road after the "last" house in the village. The road continues to climb steeply through lane of bushes and leads to an unmarked crossroads, where you continue to the right. The road then passes out of the scrub to the edge of extensive and fenced pastures. A little higher up, you reach the next crossroads, at which you see signs for Pivka. Continue in the direction of Pivka and after a few minutes of further walking you will reach the marked footpath Pivka - Šilentabor.
Here, turn left and continue along the netted fence to the next crossroads, which is reached after a minute of further walking. Continue left again and continue climbing along the fence, and at the next crossroads follow the markings and signs for Šilentabor. Higher up, the path bends and leads us out of the woods onto a larger meadow, where we continue slightly left at a crossroads. Continue for some time across the meadow, which offers a fine view of Šilentabor, and then the cart track, which you are walking on, turns into a wider macadam road, which takes you up to the village of Šilentabor in a few minutes. In the village, continue to the right and walk past the registration box and the transmitters to the lookout point in a few minutes.
