Parking Muritzen - Source of Mur / Murusprung (via Sticklerhütte)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Beljak/Villach - Salzburg take the exit St. Michael im Lungau. Follow the road along the Mura valley through Hintermuhr to the Rotgülden-Arsenhaus parking lot. Pay the toll of EUR 5 at the toll gate. Have EUR 1 or 2 coins ready. We drive along a steep narrow asphalt road to the Muritzen parking lot, where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the dirt road towards Sticklerhütte. After about 800 m, you will reach St. Hubert's Chapel, where you continue to the right in the direction of Sticklerhütte. Along the way, you can observe the River Mura and its wild tributaries. After about 3. 5 km on a dirt road, you reach the Sticklerütte hut.
It takes 1 hour to get here.
Go around the hut on the left and continue along the less good dirt road across the river Mura to the cattle fence. The road ends here. Continue along the well-maintained mountain path. The path follows the Mura River and crosses its tributaries several times. At a marked crossroads, follow the direction Murusprung. After about 1 hour and 15 minutes, you will reach the spring.
