Potok (Mostni graben) - Tolsti vrh (Dobrovlje) (via Dom na Farbanci)

Access to the starting point:
a) First, drive to Mozirje (accessed from Šoštanj or the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway (exit Šentrupert), from where you continue from the main roundabout towards Gornji Grad and the Logar valley. A few kilometres further on, after the Petrol station, turn left in the direction of Nazarje. Continue through Nazarje, following the signs for Dobletina and Šmartno ob Dreti. Continue through Dobletina and Lačja vas, then after the bridge over the Drieta, turn left towards the village of Potok. At the end of the village the road turns into a forest and then continues along the Mostni graben stream. About 200 m further on, you reach a small parking lot, next to which there are mountain direction signs and a wooden bridge over which the described route begins.
b) Drive to the settlement Šmartno ob Dreti (to get here from Gornji Grad, Ljubno ob Savinji or Vransko via the Lipa Pass), then continue driving towards Nazarje. After Pusto Polje, turn right towards the village of Potok. At the end of the village the road turns into a forest and then continues along the Mostni graben stream. Some 200 m further on, you will reach a small parking lot, next to which there are mountain direction signs and a wooden bridge over which the route described above begins.

Path description:
We start the trail across a small bridge, at which we see the signs for Dom na Farbanci. Then climb through the forest, first following the cart track, and higher up on a well-maintained footpath that leads past the Light Well. Above the well, cross another cart track, and then the relatively steep path slopes down a little and becomes an undistinguished valley. From the valley, soon turn slightly to the right, then first join the cart track, and a few steps higher still, a dirt road, which quickly leads to the Dom mountaineers na Farbanca (The House of the Mountaineers on Farbanca).
From Dom na Farbanci, continue left off the left-hand road, where the path takes you past a wooden hut into the forest. Through the forest, first climb along the mountain path, then reach the wide cart track, which continues the relatively steep climb. At a higher level, cart track turns sharp left, and at a higher level it turns slightly to the right, where it also lays down and splits into two parts. Continue along the slight left-hand one, which is also marked. The fairly flat path leads past a small pothole, then quickly reaches a forest road, which is then climbed to the nearby marked crossroads Borovnjak, where you continue right in the direction of Tolstego vrh (left Čreta).
From the relatively slippery road, the markings soon direct us to a footpath which climbs slightly and leads us within a few minutes to the place where we join the path from Doma na Čreta. Continue to the right along a rather winding path which, after a few steps, leads to a beautiful viewpoint at the large cross.
From the lookout point, which is flanked by two pleasant benches, we have a beautiful view of Vransko and the Posavje hills.
Continue along the gently sloping path, which descends steeply for a short time, then crosses occasionally steeper slopes and leads us to a small hamlet (the Rucgar farm), where we also arrive at the next crossroads.
Continue to the right in the direction of Tolstego vrh and the NOB monument (to the left Lipa and St Jošt preval) along a path which begins to climb crosswise up a partly scenic slope. Higher up, the path turns to the right, enters the forest and descends gently for a short distance. After a few minutes of further walking, the path to Tolsti vrh turns sharp left (straight NOB monument 15 minutes) and gradually starts to climb steeper and steeper. Follow this relatively well-marked path all the way to Tolsti vrh. Just a few steps below the summit, we get a beautiful view of Kamnik Savinja Alps, and the trail from St. Jošta joins us.
