Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice, take the exit Radovljica and then continue in the direction of Radovljica. At the first slightly larger junction, turn left into Radovljica, and then shortly afterwards left in the direction of Tinaraft. At the next junction, just 10 metres further on, turn right again in the direction of Tinaraft, the Radovljica Collection Centre and the Pusti grad nature trail. Continue along Savska cesta, which descends gently for most of the way, and then, after an underpass under the railway line, leads to a parking lot with signs for the Pusti grad nature trail. Park in the parking lot.
Path description:
At the end of the parking lot, where there is an information board for the nature trail, continue right on the wide path, along which you will see signs for the Fux footbridge. The path goes immediately into the forest, through which it descends gently for the most part. At the crossroads, follow the wider path, or the one with the signs for the nature trail. The trail continues past the paintball field and then descends to Fuxova brv, in front of which is Tinaraft d. o. o.
After crossing the Sava River on Fuxova brv, after a few steps of ascent, you reach a pleasant bench overlooking the footbridge and the Sava River.
From the bench continue straight on (right path along the Sava, possible continuation to Šobčev bajer) and after a short climb along cart track you reach the next crossroads where you continue straight on (right Pusti grad across Ravnica). The way ahead leads through the forest, then at the next crossroads continue slightly left in the direction of Kamna Gorica, and after a few further steps you reach a private path where you go around a nearby house. Behind the house, the private path ends and the path leads through a short meadow with a view. The path continues past the statue of the Mother of God of Lourdes and a few more information boards on the nature trail. After a short, slightly steeper climb, we arrive at a small preval, where we continue to the right (unmarked path to Vreče on the left, straight Kamna Gorica) in the direction of Pustem grad.
After a few steps, the path splits again and we continue on the right path, which quickly leads us to the Galleries (the slightly left path bypasses the Galleries and is slightly shorter). There follows an interesting path through the Galleries, where in springtime, in addition to the hellebores and the large bellflower, we can also see the rather rare Three-leaved Anemone (Anemone trifolia), which can quickly be confused with the much more common Underwood Anemone, which also grows in the Galleries. After the "window to the world", the path turns slightly to the left and leads to an undistinguished ridge, where we return to the better-beaten path that bypasses the Galleries.
After the junction of the above-mentioned path, we leave the forest and the path leads us across the hayfield to the settlement Zgornja Lipnica, where at the crossroads we follow the signs for Pusti grad. Then walk along the dirt road, which after a few minutes is joined by another path from the Fux footbridge. Continue along the road, which then leads to the next houses, where at the crossroads you again follow the signs for Pusti grad. Behind the last house, we get a nice view of the route to the Alps, and then, when we enter the forest again, we arrive at a crossroads where a short path branches off to the left, leading to Pusti grad. From the crossroads, Pusti grad is reached after a further walk of about one minute. Description and figures refer to the situation in 2016 (March and April).
We can extend the trip to the following destinations: Šobčev bajer
