Rogla (Hotel Planja) - Koča na Pesku (via Rogla)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Slovenske Konjice exit and continue driving towards the above-mentioned place. From Slovenske Konjice continue towards Zreče, and we continue along the road in the direction of Roga. When we arrive at Rogla, we park in a large parking lot near the Planja Hotel.
b) First we drive to Lovrenc na Pohorju (to get here from the road Maribor - Dravograd), then we continue driving towards Rogla and Koča na Pesku. The dirt road then leads first to Mašinžaga and then to Koča na Pesku. From Koča na Pesku, continue on the asphalt road, which then leads up to a large parking lot near the Planja Hotel.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road towards Koča na Pesku. The road initially leads between the fotball field on the left and the church on the right. As soon as the playground ends, leave the road and continue slightly to the left along the initially parallel mountain path. The path ahead leads us past the NOB monument, behind which we gradually pass into a sparse spruce forest. There are a few crossroads where you follow the signs for the tower at Rogla. After about 15 minutes' walk from the starting point, the rather gently sloping path, which follows the route of a winter cross-country skiing track, leads us to the top of Rogla, where the 30-metre-high lookout tower stands.
If there is no risk of thunderstorms, you can climb the tower at your own risk, from which you will have a beautiful view over most of Pohorje and, in good visibility, also Karawanks, Kamnik Savinja Alps and Triglav.
From the tower on Rogla, continue left into the forest on the footpath marked Sand. The trail then descends through the forest, first gently and then more moderately. At a lower level it joins the wider cart track, which in a slight descent leads us to a larger grassy clearing where we join the asphalt road from Rogla. Continue straight ahead and after a few steps of further walking you will arrive at Koča na Pesku.
