Tržič - Sveta Neža (Brezje pri Tržiču)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Podtabor junction, then follow the signs for Tržič. When you arrive in Tržič, turn left in front of Posta Slovenije in the direction of the Tržič Health Centre, and before crossing Tržiška Bistrica, turn left again and drive to a large marked parking lot, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot we return to the road leading to the health centre Tržič, and we cross the river Tržiška Bistrica and the stream Mošenik. After Mošenik, go left in front of the SGP Tržič building and follow the signs that lead you along a narrower asphalt road. The way ahead leads us under the main road leading to Ljubelj, and after a while we arrive on the other side of the main road through an underpass, so that we gradually climb above it.

At a small crossroads by a wooden sign, bear slightly right and the path continues to climb moderately. At the next crossroads, bear slightly right again, and before the last house, bear slightly left off the road onto a waymarked path that passes a few houses on the left. With good views, reach the second road and continue along it to the next junction, where you turn right at the cross in the route Dobrča.

At the next junctions follow the signs and we gradually climb above the last houses, from where we get a nice view. There is some more crossing to the left, and then we come to a marked crossroads by a large chapel.

Here, in front of the chapel, a path branches off to the right towards Gutenberk Castle (Hudi hrad), also called Old Gutenberk or Altgutenberg in German, and one of the paths to Dobrča, and we follow the chapel to the right in the direction of Dobrča (St George's Church on the left).
There is a few minutes of cross-country descent on a dirt road, and when you reach the asphalt road Bistrica pri Tržiču - Begunje, follow it to the right. The road then leads past the Žegnani studenec water reservoir, and we follow the ascending asphalt road to the Brezje pri Tržiču settlement, where we take the upper right road at a small crossroads. After a few minutes of climbing, we reach the Church of St. Neže, which offers a beautiful view.
