Description of peak:
Žamboh is the central hill in the ridge stretching on the right bank of the Sava River, between Pasjek (the turnoff for Polšnik) and Renki, along the main Zasavje road leading from Litija to Zagorje. The ridge has three measured altitude points: at the Church of St. Lawrence (698 m), Žamboh (738 m) and the highest peak, called Kleviška Špica (791 m).

The locals prefer the hill on which the Church of St. Lawrence stands for the trip to Žamboh, where they have also placed a box with a register of remembrance in the window. The other two hills mentioned are less distinct at the top, woded and without any registration boks or stamps. Žamboh is best visited when the forest and trees are leafless, as it offers more views, and due to the nature of the terrain and the soil, it is best walked in dry weather.

The trail, except from the village of TepeXX to the church of St. Lawrence on the south side, has no markings on all other sides, and you have to follow ridges, chamois and hunting tracks and use a little ingenuity and orientation logic when using the forest trains and tracks. The route cannot be followed in a completely circular way, and at least one part of it has to be repeated at least a little in between in the case of a partially rounded 'prest or osmice', if you want to start and finish in the same place.

The easier and shorter climbing options are from the south side, but the more interesting and more difficult and orientationally demanding approaches are along the three more distinct rock ridges that support Žamboh from the north and drop down into the valley of the Sava River. Most of the rock outcrops on these ridges can be avoided (but not all!). If you stick to the ridge ascent, you may be surprised to find that in some places (Špeglovec, the north ridge below Žamboh and the north-east ridge below Kleviško Špica) you have to climb quite a bit.

There are several possible starting points for Žamboh, usually one or two hills are visited from the south side (from the village Tepe), and from the Sava River from the north side, the routes are suitable for more experienced and well-prepared mountaineers, usually starting from Pasjek, or from Renki, or up along the dry stream bed or the Blejak gorge.
