Podmelec - Waterfall Sopota (Soupat)

Access to the starting point:
Access from Most na Soči: From Most na Soči head towards Idrija to the village of Bača pri Modreju, where you head towards Podbrdo. Follow the road to the village Kneža, where you turn left towards Podmelec and Ljubinj. Shortly after the village Podmelec you will see signs for a waterfall on the right hand side of the road and a parking area on the left. It is also possible to access from Tolmin, where you go via Poljubinj and Ljubinj to the starting point.

Access from Podbrdo: From Podbrdo drive towards Tolmin to the village Kneža, where turn right towards Podmelec and Ljubinj. Shortly after the village Podmelec you will see signs for a waterfall on the right hand side of the road and a parking area on the left.

Path description:
From the parking lot, cross the road and follow the marked path across the meadow up a moderate slope to the forest, where you will find pleasant benches and a small spring. The path crosses the slopes for some time, then begins to climb steeply along a well-made path, which is guarded by a wooden fence on the steeper parts. Just a little further on we see a waterfall which is only a few steps walk away. There is a viewpoint in front of the waterfall, and the path can be extended to the healing water to the left of the waterfall. A very short protected path leads to the source of the healing water.
