Access to the starting point:
First drive to Kočevje, then look for Podgorska street (it branches off the main road to the right - the route of travel is towards Delnice). At the end of the street you will see mountain signs and a nicely arranged parking lot.
Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to a well-marked crossroads, then continue left towards the Grajska cesta (Kalanova pot on the right). First go around the house, then turn left and cross the grassy slope. The path then enters the wods, where it continues in a moderate ascent along the relatively wide cart track. Higher up, cart track crosses a forest road and gradually turns into a slightly steeper footpath. The well-marked path crosses the road a few more times higher up and leads to a crossroads where the path to Livoldski vrh and Fridrihštejn Castle branches off to the left.
Continue slightly right towards the hut and Mestni vrh along the well-marked cart track path, which has a few more forks. A little further on, there are signs for Mestni vrh, which direct you right (straight ahead to the Ice Cave and the cottage at Jelen's Well) onto the slightly narrower cart track, which starts to climb cross-country. Higher up, cart track turns into a steep footpath, which is then followed all the way to the top.

Discussion about the trail Kočevje - Mestni vrh (Grajska way)

Ob obisku Kočevja smo prehodili tudi to pot. Do Mestnega vrha smo se podali po Grajski poti in podaljšali do gradu Fridrihštajn, v povratku pa smo se vračali mimo Koče pri Jelenovem studencu, po Kalanovi poti... lep pohod. Včeraj sva se s prijateljem potepala po teh koncih. Osvojila sva Livoldski vrh, Fridrihštajn in Mestni vrh. Zadnje dva sta lepo zgažena, na Livoldski vrh pa ni bilo še nobenih stopinj. Snega je kar veliko, v senčnih predelih se ugreza tudi do kolen. Razgled je segal od Trdinovega vrha, do Kamniških Alp in Julijcev s Triglavom. Vetra ni bilo toliko v teh predelih, edino na vrhovih je včasih precej potegnilo. Naslednjič gotovo prideta na vrsto tudi Ledenik in Slovenski vrh.
