Zagrad - Vipota (via crossing Ivankovič)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Maribor - Ljubljana, take the exit Celje - centre for the route Laško or Zidani Most. First, cross the first bridge directly under the centre of Celje over the Savinja River. A little further down in the village of Polule, at a semaphore-controlled junction, turn left over the bridge over the Savinja and immediately after the bridge turn right at the junction. Immediately before the underpass for Zagrad, park in the parking lot on the right.
b) From the route of Zidanega Most or Laško, turn right at the semaphore-controlled Polule junction and continue to the parking lot as described above.

Path description:
From the parking lot continue to the crossroads, left for Zagrad through the underpass and follow the asphalt road to the right or straight on in the direction of Tremerje (direction sign). After a few hundred metres turn left and immediately under the railway underpass climb through Pečovnik along the stream bed. Somewhere up to a height of three hundred metres, asphalt, then go right on the forest path (sign on the tree Vipota) and soon you will reach one of the tallest trees in Slovenia, a 50-metre high Douglas fir.
The trail continues higher up, partly along a torrential stream, and climbs almost continuously left and right. Soon we reach a crossroads, to the right the path leads to the Vipota peak, to the left to Hotel Celjska koča, Tolsti vrh. . . As the summit will be reached via the Ivankovič crossroads, we continue to the left. The way forward rises pleasantly and in the last metres before the crossroads again runs directly along the bed of the torrential stream. In case of precipitation, a very muddy and slippery section. Soon reach the crossroads and continue sharp right through the farmyard of the homestead slightly downhill. There is a house on the left and an outbuilding on the right. Through a pasture with a few trees, you soon reach the next forest, this time coniferous. Soon a direct path to Vipota joins from the right. Here the forest changes back to deciduous and the slightly narrower path rises steeply between more distinct rocks. In a few short left-right combinations, the path reaches its destination, the summit of Vipota.
