Access to the starting point:
In Celje, find Ljubljanska Street, where at the crossroads by the Celje School of Horticulture and Visual Arts, turn south towards the Savinja Industrial Zone (where the Kameno, Sint, Mizar, Lesnina Warehouse, etc. companies are located). Park along the Savinja in the parking lot opposite the large silos of the construction company, 500 metres east of the suspension bridge over the Savinja.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the left bank of the Savinja towards the light blue suspension bridge 500 metres to the west. On the supporting pillar of the bridge you can see a marking and an arrow "Planinski dom Brnica". Cross the Savinja and get on the asphalt road. The first part of the trail follows the marked trail for Brnica. At the first asphalt crossroads go straight ahead, then after about 10 metres turn left onto the meadow path. Once in the woods, take the dirt road. Continue to follow the markings for Brnica, crossing Brniški potok, until you see that the markings for Brnica would like to direct you to the right off the road. Stop following the signs here and follow the dirt road straight ahead. A few metres further on, you will come to a fork in the dirt road, where you continue up to the left. A little further on, pass a lonely farmhouse on the left, where the road turns into a good quality cart track at the transition into the woods. Always stick to cart track, which leads us over rough terrain towards the saddle between Hom and Brnica, where the Oprešnikova homestead is located. Here our route joins Žerdonar's marked trail, where we turn left at the saddle and pass the homestead. At the forest crossing again, continue along the Homa ridge in an easterly direction, where signs direct you to the marked trail. After about 100 metres, you will come to a crossroads, where you continue up the ridge to the left. A few more minutes of walking and we are at the top, where we are greeted by new orientation boards, a stamp, a registration book and benches. If you continue a few 100 metres further along the ridge to the east, you will find a beautiful viewpoint with a nice bench.
