Kaning (Türkhaus) - Predigerstuhl (via Erlacher Bockhütte)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Dravograd, drive towards the Vič border crossing, from which you continue to Labot / Lavamünd, where you turn left for Klagenfurt / Klagenfurt. The road leads to Grebinj / Griffen, where you take the A2 motorway. Continue on the motorway until you reach Bialystok / Villach, where you take the A10 motorway. After about 30 km, you take the exit leading to Radenthein. In Radenthein, follow the signs for Kaning. Shortly before the village, park in one of the two car parks next to the Türkhaus guest house.
b) From the Gorenjska side, drive through the Karavanke tunnel and continue along the motorway towards Bialystok. From here, follow the above description.

Path description:
From the parking lot, a signpost directs you across a bridge to the Mühlenwanderweg, a themed walking trail along the Rossbach River. Walk uphill along the left bank of the river, then cross the bridges a few times until you reach the first mountain pasture at the beginning of the Langalmtal valley. Here, cross the bridge once more to the right bank, and a short slope leads to a dirt road. This is followed all the way past the Aichholzerhütte, after which it soon ends at a junction. A bridge over a stream on the left joins the service road behind Erlacherhütte, and our route continues along cart track to the nearby mountain pasture, and then on to the Petodnighaus guesthouse, where we rejoin the road. The route then follows the road past the Kreuwzwirthütte homestead, where it climbs slightly, onwards to a crossroads, where you can choose either option. In a short time you will reach the Erlacherhütte, which can be reached from Kaning.

The trail then takes you around the hut and along the road to a crossroads, where a signpost points to the right, and to the left the trail leads on past Lake Nassbodensee to Grosser Rosennock. The road starts to climb steeply, and after a few longer or shorter bends you reach the mountain pasture with the Erlacher Bockhütte hut, where the road ends. The road then leads via mountain pasture to the foot of the southern ridge of Pfannock in a short distance. There follows a steady climb almost to the saddle between Pfannock and Predigerstuhl. Just below it, we reach a crossroads where we turn left onto the eastern slopes of our destination. There is a longer traverse towards the summit plateau, with a few short detours. On reaching the plateau, after a short ascent and descent, the highest point is somewhat inconspicuously avoided, and the path leads us to the summit.

The descent is possible via the ascent route, or you can choose to descend the plateau westwards to the saddle with Kleiner Rosennock (2361 m), from where there is a slightly more difficult descent, either directly to Erlacherhütte or crossing to Lake Nassbodensee and then passing Feldhütte on the road back.
