Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus)
Big or wild capercaillie is the bigest forest hen. It is mostly seen in peaceful large forests above 800 metres height above sea level. Male weighs about 5kg while female weighs about 3kg. It eats needles and billberries in summer. They mate in summer time. Female builds a nest on the floor where it lays eggs. It hatches up to 10 young ones after 4 weeks but rare survive the first winter.
