Hochstadel

Description of peak:
Hochstadel is a 2681 m high peak located at the eastern end of the picturesque Lienz Dolomites. From the top, where a large cross commemorates the fallen of both World Wars, you can enjoy a beautiful view on all sides. The central part of the Lienski Dolomites, with its highest Große Sandspitze (2772 m), is the best view; to the north we can see High Tauern with its highest peak, Veliki Klek (3797 m); to the east, more than 2000 m lower, the River Drava; and to the south, the Carnic Alps.
