Description of mountain pasture:
Javorca is a beautiful viewpoint on the Golta plateau. It is located on the upper edge of Požgania. The name Požganije itself tells us that it was once a place of fire, the consequences of which are still visible today. It was officially set on fire on 5 July 1950, but it is believed to have smouldered in one of the chasms a few days earlier. Supposedly, or so the popular voice still says, since the time when a horse-driver and one of the shepherds set fire to the remains of a 700 kg bull that had fallen into the abyss. It was not discovered until several days later, and because of the difficult terrain, it was doused with petrol and set on fire. The shepherd who took part was sentenced to a year and a half in prison. The remains of the animal and the surrounding area smouldered for a long time, but on 5 July a strong wind blew. It blew embers, the flames engulfed the spruce trees, reached the dry grass and the rich forest and, among other things, instantly destroyed the mountain hut, so that the visitors could hardly escape. The devastating flames destroyed almost 100 hectares of wodland, two shepherds' huts for cattle and a barn, in addition to the hut, before they were tamed after 14 days.
From Javorka you have a magnificent view of the Savinja, Zadrečko and Šaleška valleys and the mountains around them, the Zasavska - Posavsko hribovje, Pohorje, and even further if visibility is good.
