Monte Volaia / Wolayer Kopf

Description of peak:
Italian Monte Volaia, German Wolayer Kopf is a 2470 m high peak in the main ridge Carnic Alps west of the highest peak Monte Coglians in the subgroup called Monti di Volaia (Biegenbirge). From the summit on which the cross stands, there is a very nice view of the nearby mountains in Carnic Alps, and in the distance Dolomites and the High Tauern are also clearly visible. There are also several military tunnels and ruins from the First World War in the surroundings.
