Topol - Polhograjska Grmada (via Robež)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Ljubljana, Kranj or Vodice, drive to Medvode and from there continue to Sora. At the crossroads at the beginning of Sora, just after the small bridge, turn left in the direction of Katarina and the village of Trnovec. The road rises above the valley and leads to the beginning of the village Topole, where you park in the large parking lot next to the primary school.
b) First drive to Škofja Loka, and from there continue to Sora. At the end of Sora, turn right towards Katarina and the village of Trnovec. The road rises above the valley and leads to the beginning of the village Topole, where you park in the large parking lot next to the primary school.
c) Leave the Primorska motorway at the Brezovica exit and continue driving in the direction of Dobrova and Polhov Gradec. Continue along the Gradaščice valley, and follow the main road towards Polhov Gradec to a small crossroads where the road turns right towards the villages of Osredek, Topole (Katarina) and Belo (the main road turns off just before the beginning of the village of Hrastenice). When you arrive in the village Topole, the road to the village of Belo branches off sharply to the left at first, and a little further on, the signs for Medvode direct you slightly to the left, onto a road that gradually begins to descend. Before the road starts to descend steeply towards the Ločnica valley, we reach the primary school, where we park in a large parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot at the primary school, follow the asphalt road up to the Dobnikar Inn, and from there continue along the asphalt road, which runs along a kind of ridge. At the sign for the end of zone 30, leave the asphalt and turn right onto the dirt road, which begins to descend gently and turns into a forest. The road, which gets progressively worse as it goes on, gradually turns into cart track, which crosses the slopes mainly to the west. Later, a number of torrents are crossed, and cart track turns more to the right, crossing the slopes in a north-north-westerly direction. A little further on, a wooden marker for the farm Robež is seen, which points to the left to another cart track, which is followed steadily uphill to a point where you emerge from the woods among the pastures of a nearby farm. Once out of the woods, continue climbing for a short distance before descending behind the cross towards the farm Robež, which is quickly reached.
In front of the farm, the signs for Grmada and Tošč direct you left to cart track, which continues past a fruit and meat drying kiln. After the farm, cart track enters the woods and starts to climb moderately. Climb for some time along cart track, which mostly passes through the forest, only higher up it leads over a short scenic slope, from which a view opens up towards Grmada and Toško. Cart track soon returns to the forest, turns into a wide track, and joins the marked path leading from Katarina towards Grmada.
The trail continues along and along the Lipja ridge, which initially leads past the NOB memorial plaque, slightly further on past a beautiful viewpoint, and then continues mostly through the forest with a few short ascents and descents. This route continues until it reaches a marked crossroads about 15 minutes below the Grmada peak.
Continue straight ahead on the marked trail in the direction of Grmada (Setnica on the left, Gonte Tourist Farm on the right). The trail then crosses the slopes slightly to the left in a moderate ascent and then starts to climb steeply up the summit and snow-slip-prone slope of Grmada. The steepness then eases and the path leads to the scenic summit ridge Grmada, from which it is only a few steps to the top.
