Andraž nad Polzelo - Brunški vrh (Po poteh Andraža)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Maribor or Celje you can take the motorway to the Šempeter exit. Turn right in the direction of Polzela. Go through Ločica ob Savinji and Breg at Polzela. At the end of Breg pri Polzeli take the second exit at the roundabout. You will arrive at Polzela. Drive through the town to a large crossroads by the fire house Polzela where you continue on the priority road to Velenje and Andraž nad Polzelo. On the left you will see a beautiful manor house and the Šenek retirement home. Drive into Založe, and after a few minutes you will reach the crossroads for Adndraž nad Polzelo. Turn left and go straight ahead and at a small crossroads turn right uphill towards St Andrew's Church. Drive to the cemetery and park in the nearby parking place.
b) From Ljubljana, take the motorway to the Šentrupert exit. At the exit turn left in the direction of Mozirje. After about 3 km, turn right at a major junction in the direction of Polzela. Pass through the village of Parižlje. After 1 km, cross the bridge over the Savinja and the railway line. Continue on the priority road to the Polzela Fire Brigade Home. From there on, follow the route described under option A.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road past the chapel and the memorial to the victims of the NOB. From here, continue along the road past the Andraž nad Polzelo primary school. Soon you will come to the Gričar day bar, where there is a registration box and a stamp. Continue towards Blagotinšek Farm. On the way you will meet several signs for the Andražko trail, but they are all marked with the destination they lead to. We follow the sign for Blagotinšek Farm. On the left we soon see a lime tree with a nice viewpoint planted on a hill. Here you can see Mount Oljeka. After about 15 minutes from Gričar, we reach Blagotinšek, where there is a registration box, a stamp and a sign for Brunški vrh. From here on we have about 45 minutes to walk. Further on from Blagotinšek you will see a sign for the Andraško trail, which turns left downhill past the farm buildings. Follow it. At a house, turn left again down the meadow path. Go past a goat house and down into the woods on the right. You will come to a dirt road with a stream running alongside. After a few minutes, you will reach a sign for the Andraška trail. Turn left and then soon right uphill. Walk along the path and cross a small spring. Follow the markings, which are clearly visible. Soon you will emerge from the forest into a pasture. Cross an electric shepherd and follow the path across the meadow. Soon you will see a marker on a birch. This leads to an outbuilding and then onto a road. Follow it past the houses to the hill, where you will see the signpost for the Andraško trail and the Brunškega vrh stamp on the left. Follow the sign for the stamp. After a few metres of walking, the signpost directs you to a forest path to the top of the hill. There are steps and the path is well marked. In the middle of the hill we see the signposts for the Andraško trail again, as some people come from the Praprotnik farm and others from Blagotinšek. This part of the trail is now the same for both directions, as the other trail towards Blagotinšek is closed. We are going along the path where the stamp is. When we get to the top, we stamp it and sign in the box.
