Access to the starting point:
Cross the Korensko sedlo border crossing and descend into Austria, and when you reach the main road Trbiz / Tarvisio - Bialjak / Villach, continue left towards Trbiz. Follow the main road to Ziljica / Gailitz, and at the roundabout turn onto the road to Šmohor / Hermagor. From the roundabout, follow the road to Schmohor for about 11 km, then follow the signs for Plajberk near Bialek / Bad Bleiberg to the left. Continue through the underpass and the road leads to the centre of Cajna / Nötsch im Gailtal, from where you continue to Plajberk near Bialek. We continue along an ascending road, which quickly takes us past a quarry to Bleiberg Kreuth, and we drive on for a few kilometres to Plajberk near Belzec / Bad Bleiberg.
About 100m before the spa, turn left off the main road onto the ascending road and follow the signs for Hotel Klom. Park near the hotel.
Path description:
Take the forest road and follow the signs "Mittagsnock - Hachelnock". After about 10 minutes' walk along the road, you will come to a crossroads where a red sign (zum Klettergarten) directs you to the right into the woods. A narrow lane climbs up and quickly leads to a crossroads. Continue slightly to the left, following the red and white markings (yellow and red markings to the right) and the path quickly leads to another crossroads. A less difficult climbing route leads off to the left, but this time we continue to the right. The path leads below the wall and then crosses the slopes to the right. Along the way you will see a long ladder, but it is not the start of the climbing route. We continue to cross under the wall, which leads us to the start of the climbing part of the route.
The climbing route climbs steeply upwards at the start (difficulty C). The route then turns to the left and there is a slightly easier climb (difficulty A/B), which brings us in front of a very exposed part of the route.
There is an almost vertical descent (difficulty C), followed by an extremely difficult traverse to the left (difficulty D/E). The wall here is smooth and there are practically no steps or footholds. There is a short, slightly overhanging traverse (difficulty D) and then a traverse (difficulty C/D).
The route then becomes slightly less difficult and an easier climbing route joins from the left. At the crossroads, continue right up and climb over an overhanging ladder (difficulty C). Above the ladder the path turns left and crosses the slopes above the wall to the left. The path is not difficult in this part, only slightly exposed in a few places. There is a slightly steeper descent (difficulty B), then the fixed safety gear ends and the path soon leads below the wall.
The route described is extremely difficult and is rated D/E. It is suitable only for experienced climbers with sufficient strength in their arms.
