Begunje (Krpin) - Sveti Peter above Begunje (via climbing wall)

Access to the starting point:
Exit the Gorenjska motorway at exit Radovljica or Lesce, then follow the signs for Begunje na Gorenjskem. When you arrive at Begunje na Gorenjskem, first follow the signs for Tržič and Draga, then turn left after the hospital in the direction of the Krpin Recreation Centre, which you will reach after about 100 metres of further driving. Park in the large parking lot next to the recreation centre.

Path description:
Behind the Krpin buffet, which is next to the parking lot, a well-trodden path leads to the Church of St Peter on the Mount. The path initially follows the gently sloping cart track and then passes to the right side of the ski slope, where it climbs along the edge of the woods. The path climbs steeply for some time, then it becomes a bit steeper after the shepherd's hut. A little further on, at the top of the ski slope, where the normal path turns right, we continue to the left in the direction of the path over the climbing track. There is some scrambling, at first with good views, but after the Mancino bench the path turns into the forest. In the forest, continue along the left path (the right path gives way to the climbing wall and is technically not difficult) and descend in a slight traverse to the base of the climbing wall. Here the route becomes very difficult and climbs over a very steep but relatively short wall, where we are helped by crampons and a full-length rope. Above the belays, the steepness eases and we soon join another route, and a few steps further on, another route joins us from the right, giving way to the climbing wall. A few more ascents follow and we join the marked path that starts at the fire house in Begunje.
This path reaches an old stone marker, and we follow it all the way to St Peter's Church, from which we have a beautiful view.
