Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenica take the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and on to Bohinjska Bistrica. From Bohinjska Bistrica turn left towards Tolmin and Soriška mountain pasture. Follow this road to a large parking lot near the Soriška ski centre mountain pasture.
b) From Železniki, drive towards Podbrdo or vice versa, but only until you reach the point where the signs for Soriška planina direct you to the ascending road. Follow this road to the large parking lot at the foot of the Soriška ski slope mountain pasture.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the dirt road in the direction of Koča na Soriški planini, which can be reached in a few minutes.
Just above the cottage, on a nearby spruce tree, you will see the mountain signs for Lajnar, Možic and Šavnik, which direct you to the gently sloping path that continues along the ski lift. Soon, the path to Šavnik, Možic and the old Italian barracks branches off to the right, and we continue straight ahead, continuing along the ski lift. Higher up, the lift ends and the path becomes steeper and transitions into the lane of the forest. When the forest ends, the path is laid, and we arrive at a saddle between Lajnar on the left and the south-eastern summit of Slatnik on the right.
Here, before crossing the grazing fence, we continue right along the ridge and continue along the trail with fine views of Porezen and the Baška Grapa. Higher up, the ridge retreats slightly to the right, where you cross grassy slopes that offer a fine view towards Soriška mountain pasture. A little further on, we return to the ridge, where we continue sharp left along an easier trackless path, after which, within a minute or two of further walking, we reach the summit, on which there is a stamp attached to a metal pole.
Description and pictures refer to the situation in 2015 (August).
