Borovec pri Kočevski Reki - Krempa

Access to the starting point:
From Ljubljana, drive to Velike Lašče and on to Kočevje. Shortly after Ribnica, at Dolenja vas, leave the main road leading to Kočevje and continue to the right in the direction of Gotenica and Kočevska Rijeka. When you reach Kočevska Reka, turn right at the first slightly larger but unmarked crossroads and then continue along a narrower road which, after a few km of further driving, leads you to the village of Borovec near Kočevska Rijeka. In the centre of Borovec there is a crossroads near which you can park, otherwise continue in the direction of saddle Krempa and then park at a suitable place along the road.

Path description:
From the crossroads in Borovec, continue left towards the saddle Krempa and continue along the asphalt road for about 100 m, then the markings direct you to the right on the macadam road. The road continues across a larger meadow, then crosses the lane of the forest and leads to the upper part of the village, after which you will see information boards along the way.
From the information boards, follow the marked path as it climbs gently across a large meadow. At the top of the meadow or pasture we see a hunting observation post, and the path goes only a few metres beyond it into a dense forest, through which we climb along a wide and well-maintained path, along which we see daffodil-shaped markings. A moderately steep path along the bottom of the valley leads us higher up out of the forest and onto a grassy slope, where we can admire the daffodils bloming in (usually) May, as an information board by a nice bench with a table warns us. From the information board, it is a short 10-step climb to the Krempar saddle, which offers a beautiful view of the Upper Kolpa Valley.
At the saddle, continue left in the direction of the Krempa peak, and continue your ascent along the marked path leading into the forest. The way forward climbs steeply through a mostly pine forest and, after crossing a short steep and especially in the wet dangerous for slipping slope, leads us to an exposed viewpoint (the steep slope can be withdrawn slightly to the left). The climb continues along a relatively steep path, which in a few minutes of further walking leads us to the top of Krempa, in the middle of which there is a subscription box.
