Brezovica pri Ljubljani - Vrh (Debeli hrib)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Koper, take the exit Brezovica, then continue along the parallel old road towards Vrhnika. Approximately 100 m before the crossroads where the road to Podpeča branches off to the left, you will see signs for the fruit and vegetable shop Pod orehom on the right hand side of the road, directing you to the right onto V Radno Street. This is the start of our route to Vrh, and we park somewhere nearby in a suitable place on Brezovica.

Path description:
Leave the Tržaška cesta in the direction of the fruit and vegetable shop Pod orehom, and then, before the shop, turn left onto the ascending road, which leads past a few houses. After the houses, the last one on the right, the road turns into a forest and turns into a wide cart track. cart track soon lays down and then leads to a small crossroads where we continue on the right, also well beaten cart track. The above-mentioned cart track is soon abandoned as the footprints of the predecessors lead us slightly to the left on a well-trodden path which climbs gently for a few minutes. Soon the path reaches the next cart track, where there are a large number of firewood piles. Here we see an arrow on a tree pointing to the left, and we continue straight on along the gently sloping cart track, which crosses the slopes to the right. A little further on, the path diverges from cart track to run parallel to it, then returns to it. There is only a short 10 m walk along cart track before the well-trodden path turns left and begins a moderate ascent. In two long switchbacks the path ascends to the undistinguished ridge of Brezovšek Hill, where it continues with a few short ascents and descents. About 15 minutes further on, we merge with another ridge, where the marked Cankarjeva trail joins us from the right. Continue straight ahead and in a few minutes of gentle climbing reach the marked summit, where there is a signing box, a bench, a thermometer, a frog. . .
