Čemšenik - Črni vrh (Čemšeniška planina)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Celje take the exit Trojane. Continue in the direction of Zagorje and the road will then take you through the tunnel V V Zideh, after which you will come to a place where the road to the village Šentgotard branches off to the left. At the end of the village Šentgotard we come to a crossroads where we continue to the right in the direction of the village of Čemšenik (on the left Prvine). The road then takes us through the village Dobrljevo after which we come to Čemšenik, where we see the mountain signs for Čemšeniška mountain pasture along the road. Here turn left steeply uphill and follow the road above the village, where you park in a small parking area by the road.
From Zagorje, take Kisovec towards Trojany. In the village Izlake turn right (direction Čemšenik and Jesenovo) and follow the road to the junction Čemšenik on the left, Jesenovo on the right. Here turn left and, when you see the mountain signs for Čemšeniško mountain pasture along the road, turn right steeply uphill and follow the road above the village, where you will park in a small parking lot by the road.

Path description:
From the church, continue west, then turn right at the nearby crossroads in the direction of Bio apple. There is a steep climb, and at the end of the village, by the waterworks, the asphalt ends. A little further on, at a small crossroads, go left, and after a short climb, the signpost for Čemšeniška mountain pasture directs you to the right on a marked footpath that climbs through the forest. After a few minutes, the path crosses cart track and joins the forest road a few steps further on. Follow the road, which climbs moderately, for only a short distance to a point where signs direct you to the left on the steep cart track. After a few metres of ascent on cart track, you will notice a small spring on the left-hand side of the path. The often rather muddy cart track leads us, after a ten-minute climb, to a clearing, which we cross on a path that is not very visible, but which is clearly visible on the other side. Here the path from Kisovec and Zagorje joins us from the right. We continue along the cart track, which makes two sharp bends and then turns into a footpath in a small clearing. The path ahead becomes quite steep and leads us in a cross-climb lasting about 30 minutes to a place where we join the path from Prvin. The path continues along the edge of the steep hay meadows of Čemšeniška mountain pasture, from which we have beautiful views, especially towards Kumu. A few minutes' walk along the edge of the steep hay meadows is followed by a spot where a cable car crosses the mountain path. Cross the cableway carefully, taking care not to bump your head on the cable. On the other side of the cableway, you can already see the mountain hut, which can be reached in a few steps.
From the hut, continue eastwards along the path, which initially runs along the edge of the steep hayfields and then into the forest. The path through the forest then climbs only slowly and, after a 15-minute walk from the hut, leads us to a registration box just a few steps below the summit.
