Ciganija - Uršlja gora (Plešivec) (winter way)

Access to the starting point:
a) First drive to Šoštanj (to get here from Velenje or Savinja Valley), then continue driving to Črna na Koroškem. The road then starts to climb towards the Spodnje Sleme Pass (1081 m), which is reached after a few kilometres of winding road. Here, the road to Andrejev dom na Slemenu branches off to the left, and we continue towards Črna na Koroškem. From the pass we drive on for another 100 metres, then the signs for Uršlja gora direct us right onto the ascending road, which loses its asphalt coating just a little higher up. Continue on the wider macadam road (the road is usually ploughed and gritted in winter), and we follow it for about 1500 metres, or to a junction where a worse macadam road branches off to the right towards Križan and Uršlja gora (there are a number of mountain signs and a cross at the junction). Park in a suitable place on the roadside.
b) First drive to Črna na Koroškem and from there continue to Šoštanj and Velenje. Before you reach the Spodnje Sleme pass, the signs for Uršlja gora direct you sharp left onto the ascending and then wider dirt road (the turnoff from the main road is located a few 100 metres before the pass, and there is a larger chapel above the crossroads). Continue on the wider dirt road (the road is usually ploughed and gravelled in winter), and follow it for about 1500 metres, or to a junction where a minor dirt road branches off to the right towards Križan and Uršlja gora (there are a number of mountain signs and a cross at the junction). Park in a suitable place on the side of the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road on the right in the direction of Uršlja gora and Naravske ledin. The road goes immediately into the forest, where it then continues without any major changes in elevation to the pass between Kotnik's and Kavnik's Peak. Continue in the direction of Uršlja gora along the road, which from here on starts to descend more steeply. The road then flattens out and after about 45 minutes' walk from the starting point leads us to a slightly larger crossroads at Križan Farm.
Continue straight up the footpath in the direction of Uršlja gora (on the left continue along the Naravske ledine road). The way forward is to climb through the lane of a forest behind which you will come to a vast and scenic grassy slope on which you will pass a chapel and climb up to the road leading to Uršljo gora.
The road is only crossed as the marked path leads into the forest. The way forward begins to climb steeply and after a few minutes of further walking leads us to a crossroads where we continue to the right in the direction of the winter trail (slightly to the left the usual path). The path then quickly leads us to cart track after which we climb in a transverse ascent to the road leading to Uršljo gora. The road is reached just at the place where the annual parking lot is located. Continue the ascent past the lock, along the road, which climbs relatively steeply at first through the forest. Follow this road, which offers increasingly beautiful views, to the house on Uršlja Gora.
From home we continue past the church along a pleasant footpath which, after a good 5 minutes of further walking, leads us to a scenic peak on which stands a large cross.
