Cimprovka (Davča) - Porezen (by road)

Access to the starting point:
From Škofja Loka, drive towards Železniki and continue along the road towards Podbrdo and Soriška mountain pasture. Shortly before the village of Zali log, the road turns left towards the ski resort Cerkno and the village of Davča. Take this road, which crosses a bridge and continues up along the river Davča. Follow the ascending road in the direction of the ski resort Cerkno, Porezno and Davka Falls at several small junctions. Higher up, we come to a slightly larger crossroads where we continue sharp left along the priority road in the direction of Cerkno and the Cerkno ski resort (Porezen and Davški falls to the right). Higher up, the road leads us to the base of the ski centre and we follow it a little further to a crossroads at the Tuškov grič parking lot, where we continue to the right in the direction of Porezno (straight ahead to Cerkno and the Poljane valley). Follow the road, which has a few small junctions further on, in the direction of Porezno (the junctions are mostly well marked). When you get to the junction where the road branches off to the right in the direction of the Davški Falls, continue straight ahead and follow the road for another 100 m and then park in the parking lot by the road.
Access is also possible from the Poljane valley and Cerkno.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the macadam road towards Porezno. The road soon starts to descend slightly and then turns left, where it crosses the slopes of Cimprovka (Kopa 1360 m). The road continues across grassy slopes, then turns right near a small pass (the pass between Kopa 1360 m and Hum 1423 m) and gradually begins to climb steeply. The increasingly scenic road leads us higher up to the ridge of Hume, from which it starts to descend steeply towards the Velbnik saddle.
At the saddle, continue right towards the shepherd's hut (straight ahead Porezen over the top of Medrce) along the road, which soon turns into a forest. A few minutes' walk through the forest follows, and then the road leads to a small crossroads in the immediate vicinity of the aforementioned shepherd's hut.
Continue slightly to the left along the upper road, which is joined just a little further on the right by the marked path from "lower" Davča. The road then crosses a short strip of forest and then climbs crossways to the north-west ridge of Porezno, where the marked path from Petrovega Brdo joins us on the right. Continue to the left and after a few steps of further walking you will reach the mountain lodge on Porezno.
From the home, continue on the cross path, which, with beautiful views of the Lower Bohinj Mountains, leads to the top of Porezno in 5 minutes of further walking.
