Concentration camp - Koča na Ljubelju

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Podtabor junction and continue driving towards Border crossing Ljubelj. On the road to Ljubelj, pass the Ljubelj South Concentration Camp Memorial Park, where the road turns slightly to the left. There is a right serpentine, some ascent and a left serpentine. At the beginning of the left serpentine, leave the main road and continue straight on the macadam road with signs for Korošica and a parking area. Follow the road for another 10 metres to an unmaintained parking area, where you park so as not to interfere with the forestry work.

Path description:
From the starting point, follow cart track from the end of the road, and leave cart track at the signpost on the left for mountain pasture Korošica, and continue left on the old border path to cart track. At the beginning, cross a small torrent, then start to climb crosswise to the left, and the path leads us a little further parallel to the main road, which we see steeply below us. After the steep slope, the path descends gently into the bed of the torrent and crosses it. Immediately after the crossing, continue to the right and climb along the stream for a short distance before the track turns left and continues to climb cross-country. A little further on, we get a nice view in the direction of Begunjščica, and a little beyond the viewpoint we reach a macadam road where we join the normal route from Ljubelj.
Follow the road to the right, climb over two serpentines, and then a beautiful view opens up towards the Šentanska valley and Begunjščićica. Higher up, you pass converters, a chapel, a trough and a bench. After the bench, there are a few more serpentines, and we arrive at Koča na Ljubelju and the Ljubelj Pass, from where we have a beautiful view towards Austria.
