Access to the starting point:
First, drive to Ravne na Koroškem (to get here from Dravograd or Slovenj Gradec), then continue driving towards Mežica and Črna na Koroškem. When you arrive in Črna na Koroškem, park in a suitable place in the centre of the town.
You can also reach the starting point from the route of Šoštanj or the Spodnje Sleme pass, but this is not very sensible, as you are then walking along the road you used to get to the starting point.
Path description:
From where we parked, we first walk to the centre of Črna na Koroškem, where there is a monument, a bus station and the parish church of St. Ožbalta. From the centre, where there is also a roundabout and a large number of mountain direction signs, we continue in the direction of Dom na Smrekovcu and follow the pavement of the main road leading to Šoštanj or the Spodnje Sleme pass (the pass near Andrejev dom na Slemenu). The path initially leads us past the Črna na Koroškem Primary School, and then past a large parking lot and a chapel. When the settlement ends, a road branches off to the left towards Javor, the church of St. Jost and the church of St. Magdalene, and it is also possible to continue along the above-mentioned road towards Uršlja gora and Andrejev dom na Slemenu (the above-mentioned road is slightly longer, but it is less busy and more suitable for walking). The road we are walking on is still marked for a while (the markings are rare), and then past the road branch towards Najevska lipa, it leads us to a marked crossroads, where the marked path towards Smrekovec continues to the right on a side road, and we continue to follow the asphalt road (direction Dom na Slemenu), which gradually becomes steeper in the sequel. The road continues to lead us past individual homesteads, and then, in a few serpentines, begins to climb towards the Spodnje Sleme pass. Even before we reach the pass, a marked path branches off to the left towards Uršlja gora and the nearby church of St. Vida (here, too, the aforementioned variant joins us from the left, passing the church of St. Josht and the church of St. Magdalene).
From here it is only a short climb and we reach the crossroads at the Spodnje Sleme Pass. From the crossroads, turn right and then left at the first crossroads after about 100 m in the direction Andrejev dom na Slemenu, which is reached within a few minutes from the pass.
The route described is not the most suitable for a solo destination and should only be used if you have a car parked near the pass and are descending to Črna na Koroškem on a circular tour. In this case, it is the shortest connection between Črna na Koroškem and Andrew's house on Slemen.
