Crni Lug - Veliki Risnjak (Horvatova staza)

Access to the starting point:
From the old road Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka, take the road to Delnice, from where you continue to Crni Lug. After about 12 km, you will arrive in the village and then follow the signs for the Risnjak National Park Administration, where you will park in a marked parking lot.

Path description:
In front of the administrative building of the Risnjak National Park there is a tourist hut, where you go left and follow the signs for the Horvatova trail. Follow the well-marked and well-maintained trail up to the crossroads above Lesko (928 m), which is reached by a fairly steep path.
From the crossroads, continue in the direction of the Horvatova cesta and continue along a slightly steeper path that climbs through the forest. The way ahead leads through the forest and is well marked. At a height of 1107 m, you reach the Vučje Cave, a 145 m deep sinkhole. We continue to climb through the forest, and the path leads us through Smrekovec (1199 m).
After a while, a beautiful trail leads to the old hut and the Moravec trail. This is where the Horvatova steza ends and the more difficult part of the trail to Šloser's home begins.
From the house, follow the signs for Veliki Risnjak, which is reached after about 20 minutes of ascent on a marked path.
