Dolina potoka Žep - Veliki Travnik (via partisan hospital)

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Šentrupert exit and follow the road towards Logarska dolina. In the village Ljubno ob Savinji, the sign for Smrekovec points to the right. The road then takes you through the centre of the village, where you turn left again after the Smrekovec sign. The road then leads to Ljubenske Rastke, where you turn left at the crossroads near the church. Follow this road to a sharp right turn in the middle of which a macadam road branches off straight ahead, which you follow to a small parking lot at the end of the road.

Path description:
From the parking lot at the old mill, cross the tributary of the Žep stream over a small bridge and then follow the cart track climbing along the Žep stream. After a few minutes' walk, you will see a path that turns sharp right and climbs steeply for a short distance. After a short climb, the path leads us out of the forest to a small clearing where the log cabin Planinc stands.
Proceed slightly left along the less favourable cart track, which begins to climb steeply parallel to the torrential gully, which is visible on the right below. Cart track then crosses the above-mentioned torrent after a while and leads to a crossroads immediately after it. Continue along the right-hand cart track, which first crosses the slopes to the right and then begins to climb steeply in a number of switchbacks. Higher up, you reach a forest road, which you follow to the left and which quickly leads to a crossroads.
Continue left in the direction of the partisan hospital and the cottage on Travnik, following the marked cart track, which mostly just crosses the slopes. Cart track later turns into a macadam road, which is followed only as far as the place where it crosses a torrential stream.
Just after the stream, you will see the steep marked cart track, which climbs along the stream and then goes into the forest. Continue the ascent along the cart track, which, after a few more minutes' walk through the forest, leads to the partisan hospital of Mrzle vode.
From the hospital, continue in the direction of Travnik along an increasingly steep and less visible path. Higher up, the path crosses two successive forest roads and then returns to the forest, where it continues to climb relatively steeply. Higher up, the steepness eases and the path from the Hlipovec saddle joins us from the right.
Continue to the left along a pleasant forest path, which continues to climb only slightly. A little further on, the path leads us to the next crossroads, where we continue to the right in the direction of Veliki Travnik or Turnovka (to the left the cottage on Travnik) on a path that continues to climb through the spruce forest. After a further 10 minutes, exit the forest and a view opens up towards the summit. Continue to the right (left hut on Travnik) and in a few 10 steps you will reach the top of Veliki Travnik.
