Dom Frata - Ostri vrh (above Globodol)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Obrežje motorway, take the exit Mirna Peč, then continue driving to the above-mentioned place. In Mirna Peč we reach the main road Novo mesto - Trebnje, we just cross it and continue driving in the direction of Dobrniča. After Mirna Peč, the road climbs steeply and then leads to a small crossroads where the road to the left branches off towards the settlements in Globodolski Polje. Continue left (straight Dobrnič) and descend to Gorenje Globodol. Continue driving through Srednji and Dolenji Globodol, and then the road slowly returns to the forest. In the forest, at the first crossroads, take a sharp right (straight Suhor and Novo mesto), then follow the dirt road all the way to Dom Frata, where you park.
b) From Novo mesto, drive to Prečna, and from there continue to Dom Frata and Ajdovec. A little further on, where the road to Kuzarjev Kal branches off to the right, continue straight on, and also go straight on at the next crossroads, where the road to Mirna Peć branches off to the right. There are a few more crossroads, and we follow the signs for Dom Frata.
c) First we drive to Žužemberk, and from there we continue driving towards Straža. Shortly after Žužemberk, we turn slightly left off the main road onto a narrower road towards Dolnji Ajdovec. Continue through Sadinja vas pri Dvoru, Mali Lipovec , all the way to Gornji and Dolnji Ajdovec, and from there follow the signs for Dom Frata. After the village, the asphalt ends and we then follow the dirt road down to the aforementioned home, where we park.
d) From Bela krajina or Straža, drive to the village of Soteska, from where you continue in the direction of Žužemberk. Before the end of Soteska, turn slightly right (unmarked) onto a road that starts to climb up the slope. Continue through the village of Drenje. When you reach Veliki Lipovec go right, then after the end of Doljni go left in the direction of Dom Frata. When you reach the house, park in the parking lot next to the house.

Path description:
From Dom Frata continue along the road, which bypasses the home on the east side and initially climbs gently northwards. The road soon turns more to the left, and after a few minutes' climb leads to a marked crossroads, where you continue right on the footpath towards Ostrega vrha (straight along the Ajdovec road). There is a short climb through the lane of a forest, and then you reach another road, which you follow to the right, and walk along it for only a few 10 steps, as the signs for Ostri vrh then direct you to the left on the footpath. Just after leaving the road, the path crosses a larger clearing and then begins to climb more visibly, first through a clearing and then through a spruce forest. Higher up, we get a glimpse of some views towards Žumberačka gora, and then the trail dips. There are a few crossroads where we follow the markings, and the path continues through the forest, leading us occasionally upwards, and occasionally downwards. Later the path passes into dense lane of bushes, through which it is nicely cut, before returning to mixed woodland. The path continues past a hunting observation post, and beyond it quickly reaches a road leading from Rdeči Kal towards the Dobrnič LD Home. Follow the road to the right, and within a minute's walk you will reach the aforementioned hunting lodge.
Go around the lodge on the lower right-hand side, then continue a few 10 steps further slightly left into the forest, on a path that begins to climb crosswise. Higher up, the path turns slightly more to the left and joins the path with Rdeči Kal (the path across the Great Plain).
From here it is only a short climb and the path leads to the forested Ostri vrh.
