Dom na Čreti - Tolsti vrh (Dobrovlje)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Celje take the exit Vransko. Continue driving along the old road in the direction of Ljubljana, but only to the point where the road to Vransko branches off to the right. Continue through Vransko and on the other side of the village turn right in the direction of Tešova and Ropasija. Follow this mostly ascending road towards the signs for the house at Čreta, below which you can park in one of the small parking areas along the road.
From Mozirje take the road to Nazarje and follow the road towards Gornji Grad and Šmartno ob Dreti. Just after Lačja vas, the road turns left in the direction of Čreta and Farbance (the road is marked). Follow the road, which becomes macadam and starts to climb, in the direction of Farbance. Just a few metres before the house on Frabance, turn left and follow the road towards the house on Čreta, below which you can park in one of the small parking areas along the road.
From Kamnik, drive over the Črnivec pass to Gornji Grad and follow the road in the direction of the villages Bočna, Šmartno ob Dreti and Nazarje. Just after the village of Pusto polje, you will see a road heading right in the direction of Čreta and Farbanca. It follows the description from Mozirje.

Path description:
From the house on Čreta, follow the road back to the last crossroads and then continue along the asphalted road in the direction of Vransko. Walk along the road for a few minutes, then notice the mountain signs for Tolsti vrh, which direct you right into the forest (you can also get here by car).
After a few steps, the path into the forest bypasses a small wooden hut and then begins to climb slightly along the cart track. The way forward climbs slightly more for a short time and immediately afterwards leads us to a crossroads where the path from Farbance joins us from the right.
Continue straight along the rather gently sloping path which, after a few steps, leads us to a beautiful viewpoint at the large cross.
From the lookout point, which is flanked by two pleasant benches, we have a beautiful view of Vransko and the Posavje hills.
Continue along the gently sloping path, which descends steeply for a short time, then crosses occasionally steeper slopes and leads us to a small hamlet (Rucgar farm), where we also arrive at the next crossroads.
Continue to the right in the direction of Tolstego vrh and the NOB monument (to the left Lipa Preval and St Jošt) along a path which begins to climb crosswise up a partly scenic slope. Higher up, the path turns to the right, enters the forest and descends gently for a short distance. After a few minutes of further walking, the path to Tolsti vrh turns sharp left (straight NOB monument 15 minutes) and gradually starts to climb steeper and steeper. This relatively well-marked path is then followed all the way to Tolsti vrh.
Just a few steps below the summit, a beautiful view of Kamnik Savinja Alps opens up, and the path from St. Jošto joins us.
