Dom v Kamniški Bistrici - Brana

Access to the starting point:
We drive into Kamnik and follow the road towards the Kamniška Bistrica valley, where we park in a large parking lot near our home in Kamniška Bistrica.

Path description:
From the parking lot in front of the lodge in Kamniška Bistrica, we continue along the initially asphalted road, which after a short climb quickly leads us into the forest. After a few minutes of walking, the mountain signs for Kamniško sedlo direct us to the right on a steep footpath that leads us slightly higher to an interesting passage under overhanging cliffs. The steep path then leads us to the bottom station of the cargo cableway, where we step out onto the road. Continue to the left and then, after a few steps, take a sharp right. A relatively steep forest path leads us higher up to cart track, which we follow for a few tens of metres to the right, and then signs direct us to the left, where after a steep initial climb the steepness subsides. Next, in a slight cross-climb, cross the relatively steep slopes, after which the path from the higher starting point (Jermanca) joins us from the left. The well-marked and relatively steep path, which climbs through the forest for some time, leads us higher up to a pleasant small spring (which dries up in dry periods). From the small spring, there is a short climb, and the path leads us to the well-known resting place Pri Pastirjih, where there is an emergency bivouac.
Continue straight on the marked path, which then quickly passes out of the forest onto a vast meadow. Beyond the meadow, the path goes into lane of dwarf pines, where it starts to climb steeply again. The path, which continues along the increasingly scenic steep slope, leads us after a good hour's walk from Pastirjev to the mountain hut at Kamnišek sedlo.
From the hut at Kamnik saddle, continue left in the direction of Brana along the path which leads us across the meadows to a crossroads where we continue slightly left (right down Okrešelj). The path which continues to climb up the increasingly rocky slope quickly leads us to a scree slope which is dangerous to slip in the snow. The scree is crossed in a slight cross-climb, and then the path leads to the next crossroads, where it continues to the left (right Turska gora).
The path then begins to climb slightly steeper and for some time continues to cross the slopes to the west. The path then turns to the left and becomes slightly more difficult. The path then climbs up the rocky slope towards the ridge and from the path we start to get a nice view towards Turska gora, Skuta and Grintovec. The path then turns further to the left and crosses steep slopes to the south-east. In this part, we are also helped in a few places by a cable car. A slightly steeper climb through a narrower ravine follows, where some easier climbing is also required. At the top of the gully the path turns right and there is a shorter climb to a less steep summit slope. Continue left and the beautiful view and easy path will lead you to a spacious summit in a few minutes.
