Dovje - Planica (via Sedučnik and over saddle)

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Gorenjska motorway at exit Jesenice - West (Hrušica), then continue to Kranjska Gora. Towards Kranjska Gora, drive to the crossroads by the Jakob Aljaž monument, where you turn right into the nearby parking lot by the Aljaž hill.
b) First drive to Kranjska Gora, then continue to Jesenice. Follow the main road to Jesenice to the junction by the Jakob Alyaz Monument, where you turn left into the nearby parking lot by the Alyaz Temple.

Path description:
From the starting point, continue in the direction of Kepe and Frauenkogel, following the ascending road that leads through Dovje. After a short climb, we reach a crossroads by the chapel, where the path from the parish church at Dovjem joins from the left. At this crossroads, turn right and then, after a few metres, at the next crossroads, turn left towards house numbers 43-50 and 75-105. Continue along the narrow asphalt road climbing between the houses, and at the next junction bear slightly right in the direction of numbers 49, 78-81A 83-90A, 92, 96-97. A little further on, where the road to house numbers 88 and 89A branches off to the right, continue straight ahead and follow the road as it loses its asphalt surface after the village. At the end of the village there is a fine view of Dovje and Jerebikovec, and the road then passes into a forest through which it climbs crosswise. Cross the Sedučnik stream, then follow the asphalt road up to the Sedučnik farm. There is a short walk along the asphalt road past a cross and a trestle to a dwelling house and outbuildings, where the path leads us completely alongside the house. After the courtyard, cross the fence and follow the path cart track into the woods. At the first crossroads above the farm, go right and then continue cross-wise to the right. Higher up, the path leads past a pleasant little spring (the source of the Sedučnik stream). Above the stream, keep to the right, and soon you will be on a macadam road, which you will reach just at the bend. Follow the road to the left for about 100 metres and then a wide cart track road branches off to the right, leading to the Vrse ravine.
Continue along the above-mentioned cart track, which leads quickly to the huts on the above-mentioned gorge.
Continue straight ahead, i. e. on the left-hand side of the two huts, where, above the meadow, you will see a slightly less well-trodden path, which changes to cart track at a higher altitude, which climbs through what was at first a sparse forest. Cart track soon ends, and we continue our ascent, initially along a torrential gully, but higher up the path turns into a gully, which is not so distinct anymore. After the aforementioned gully, in a few minutes, we climb to a saddle between Planica on the left and Borovje on the right.
When you reach the saddle called Šija 1, continue sharp left up (left Mittagskogel over Kurjeke, straight down leads a very difficult trackless path to Erjavčev rovt, right Borovje) on a path that begins to climb up a side ridge. Climb up the ridge for a short time, then the path turns slightly to the left and leads to the main ridge of Planica. Here we continue to the left and continue our ascent along and along the ridge, from which at first we only rarely have views towards Kepa and the surrounding peaks. A little higher up, the track flattens out and passes to the left side of the ridge, where it occasionally crosses a few viewing slopes. Higher up, the path returns to the ridge, which narrows and becomes exposed in places. After crossing an exposed ridge, the path returns gently into the forest and then crosses another gently exposed ravine in a gentle descent. There is a short steep climb and the increasingly scenic route leads to the top of Planica.
