Access to the starting point:
From Kranjska Gora take the road leading over the Vršič pass to Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd serpentine of the Vršiška cesta you will reach the parking lot under Erjavčevo kočo, where you park.
Path description:
From Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču or from the parking lot by the cottage, first cross the main road carefully, then continue on the footpath in the direction of Slemenova špica, Mala Mojstrovka along the Hanseatic Trail and the Doma v Tamarju. The wide and well-trodden, mostly rocky path then first climbs up to the last serpentine on the Kranj Mountains side, where it turns slightly to the right and then continues to climb relatively steeply. During the ascent, the path leads through the dwarf pines strips and between rare larch trees. With beautiful views of the Špikovo Group, Škrlatica, Prisojnik, Vršič. . . we soon reach a crossroads where we join the slightly more frequented path from the Vršič Pass.
Here, continue right and, passing a lookout point a few metres away, climb in a few minutes to the Vratca Pass (1799 m), where the next marked crossroads is located.
From the crossroads, continue left in the direction of the marked trail to Mala Mojstrovka and the unmarked trail to Slemen (straight marked trail to Slemen and Slemenova špica, right unmarked trail to Prednje Robičje). Leave the cross path below the Šitna glava buttresses after a few 10 steps and continue ascending to the left on the Hanzo path (straight unmarked path towards the ridge). The path continues with the help of numerous wedges and climbs steeply and leads us higher to the first rocks, which are then our "permanent" companion. The perfectly protected path continues to lead us along exposed ledges and ravines steeply upwards. The path, which is exposed to falling rocks, gradually lays down and we are joined on the left by the unmarked path from Šitna glave. After a few more minutes, the steepness eases further and the path leads us to a flatter world, which we go around on the right hand side. Next, the path approaches the ridge and we see Mangart and Jalovec in front of us. Here the path turns slightly left and leads us to a steep part of the path. With the help of a few pegs, but mainly without the fixed safety gear, we climb up the steep summit slope of Mala Mojstrovka to its scenic summit.
