Access to the starting point:
From Kranjska Gora take the road leading over the Vršič pass to Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd serpentine of the Vršiška cesta you will reach the parking lot under Erjavčevo kočo, where you park.
Path description:
From Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču or from the parking lot by the cottage, first cross the main road carefully, then continue on the footpath in the direction of Slemenova špica, Mala Mojstrovka along the Hanseatic Trail and the Doma v Tamarju. The wide and well-trodden, mostly rocky path then first climbs up to the last serpentine on the Kranj Mountains side, where it turns slightly to the right and then continues to climb relatively steeply. During the ascent, the path leads through the dwarf pines strips and between sparse larch trees. With beautiful views of the Špikovo Group, Škrlatica, Prisojnik, Vršič. . . we soon reach a crossroads where we join the slightly more frequented path from the Vršič Pass.
Here, continue right and, passing a lookout point a few metres away, climb in a few minutes to the Vratca Pass (1799 m), where the next marked crossroads is located.
To the left continues the protected climbing route to Mala Mojstrovka and the unmarked route to Slemen, straight ahead leads the marked path to Slemenova špica, and we continue right on the well-trodden but unmarked path leading to Prednje Robič.
From the pass, we first climb gently up a short grassy slope, and then arrive at a steeper world covered with dwarf pines. Higher up, the path curves slightly to the left and enters an even steeper strip of dwarf pines, through which there is occasionally a fairly overgrown path, but which is easy to follow at all times. A few minutes higher, you reach the Robičja ridge, which offers a really nice view of the surrounding mountains. Also along the ridge, the dwarf pines has grown quite a bit, so that in a few places the path is more overgrown. This ridge path, which gives way to a few more difficult places on the left, is then followed all the way to the summit, which is scenic and, compared to the surrounding peaks, also less visited.
