Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču - Prisank / Prisojnik (ridge path)

Access to the starting point:
From Kranjska Gora take the road leading over the Vršič pass to Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd serpentine of the Vršiška cesta you will reach the parking lot under Erjavčevo hut, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot at Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču, follow the Kopiščarjeva trail in the direction of the Postman's Home and Prisojnik. The path is initially grassy and winding, then crosses a small torrent, where a small spring usually flows, and then climbs cross-cuttingly after the torrent. Continue on the marked path, which crosses an old road a little further on, and when you reach it for the second time, continue along it to the first serpentine on the right.
From the serpentine, continue straight on to the footpath, which continues to cross the slopes to the left, opening up a beautiful view of Ajdovská deklica and the surrounding mountains. After crossing a few small ravines, the path climbs steeply and leads to a marked crossroads, where you continue to the left (to the right, Poštarski dom na Vršiču).
There is a cross-climb towards the wall of Prisojnik, and before reaching the wall, the path branches off to the right towards the pass between Prisojnik and Sovno glava.
Continue along the right path (straight ahead Kopiščarjeva cesta na Prisojnik), which then climbs crosswise under the walls of Prisojnik. The slope becomes steeper and after a further 10 steps you reach a better-beaten path from the Vršič Pass.
From the small saddle, continue left towards Prisojnik (right Sovna glava and Vršič) and follow the scree. Continue across the scree to cross the slopes on the west side of Prisank or Prisojnik. The path ahead climbs a little more and leads us to a place where the Ridge Path to Prisojnik branches off to the left, and in a straight direction the path continues, leading to Razor, Pogačnikov dom and Prisojnik along the South, Slovenian and Jubilee paths.
From the crossroads, follow the Ridge Trail, which continues along the southern slope just below the ridge of Prisojnik. The path ahead leads us along a very steep slope, which is very dangerous for slipping, especially in wet conditions. Higher up, the path turns slightly to the right, and we are joined on the left by the path leading through Prednje okno (Kopiščarjeva pot).
The window on our left (below us) is bypassed on the right, and the path above the window becomes more technically demanding. The path continues along a precipitous ridge, with the fixed safety gear aids to help us progress more safely. After a while the difficulties ease a little, but the danger is not over yet, as we are always walking along the ridge, which is very exposed in places. Just below the summit, the ridge gives way to the southern slopes, where the Slovenian Way joins us. Continue left here and there is only a short climb to a very scenic summit.
You can descend along the easier Slovenian Way.
