Fram - Mariborska koča (Jugova pot)

Access to the starting point:
a) From LJ on the motorway towards MB, exit Rače-Fram. Pass the petrol station for lorries and cross the roundabout at the next left turn onto the road that goes over the overpass in the direction of Fram. At the next large semaphore-controlled junction, go straight ahead and after about 1. 5 km you will see parking spaces on the right side of the road where you can park your vehicle.
b) From MB take the motorway in the direction LJ, exit Rače-Fram. Cross the overpass, past the petrol station for trucks and through the roundabout at the next roundabout turn left. Continue as described above.

Path description:
From the parking lot, turn right towards the bridge over Framski potok. Go in the direction of the Fram Oilworks along the street that goes past the building. Soon you will come to a crossroads where the bridge over the brook is again. Turn left over the bridge and then immediately right onto the road heading towards the village of Ranče.
Follow the road straight along the valley by the stream, which leads you past a fish farm by the woods. After approx. 1. 5 km, the path turns right at a bend and goes up the forest road cart track. Follow cart track past a secluded farm to a lock, where you turn right up the footpath again. Exit the woods at a higher level and follow the path up along the right-hand side of a field to a dwelling house, where you will come out on to the tarmac road in the village of Ranče, and a signpost will point you to the left. The road continues gently climbing past a few more houses, and a beautiful view opens up on the plain. When you reach the next house, take the path on the left at the crossroads, which turns into the forest. The path continues along the forest logging trail, and after a few minutes of further walking you reach a crossroads where you join the path from the direction of Slivnica near Maribor.
Continue along the road over Plahutnikova vrh (687 m) to Plahutnikova Farm. A signpost directs you up the slope towards the hospital for lung diseases. Cross the hospital courtyard when you cross the Hoče-Belvi road. At the traffic sign, turn right into the forest. After climbing for a few minutes, get back on the Hoče-Belvi road. Walk along the road for about 500 m, then turn left again at the sign. The footpath climbs up through the meadow and crosses the road again and turns into a macadam road. This leads to the Petkovo sedlo (881 m). Go straight on past the "Na prepihu" buffet to the next crossroads. Straight up along the bushes to the edge of the forest, where a large marking can be seen in the distance. The path climbs through the forest and then crosses the road again. You reach the edge of the forest, by the sign of God, where you can already see the Maribor hut. We go through the forest a short way, get on the road and turn left in the middle of the apartment village. In another 5 minutes we are at the Mariborska hut (1068 m).
