Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Koper motorway, take the Razdrto exit and continue along the old road through Razdrto towards the Vipava valley. After a few kilometres of descending along a rather winding road, you will reach a junction where the road to Nanos branches off to the right. Take the road mentioned above, which starts to climb steeply. When the road becomes steeper and turns from the steep slope to the plateau, you will come to a crossroads where you turn left in the direction of Abram. At all subsequent junctions, follow the road towards Furlan's shelter at Abram. Park in the large parking lot next to the nearby hunting lodge.
b) From the expressway Nova Gorica - Razdrto, take the exit Vipava and follow the road towards Podnanos. From Podnanos, continue driving along the old road towards Razdrt. Soon you will come to a crossroads where the road to Nanos branches off sharply to the left. Take the road that starts to climb steeply. When the road becomes steeper and turns from the steep slope to the plateau, you will come to a crossroads where you turn left towards Abram. At all subsequent junctions, follow the road towards Furlan's shelter at Abram. Park in the large parking lot next to the nearby hunting lodge.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road in the direction of Vojkova hut and Podnanos. The gently sloping road quickly leads to a small hamlet, where you continue along the upper left road. The road continues along the edge of the forest, from where a beautiful view of the Dolomites opens up. Just a little further on, the road passes into a dense forest and leads us to the next crossroads, where we continue straight ahead. Walk through the woods for a few minutes, and then the road leads you to more and more scenic slopes. Here you will notice the signs for Vojko's Cottage, which direct you to the left on a marked, but in parts slightly overgrown, footpath. After an initial climb, the path quickly lays down and leads us onto a plateau-like world. A little further on, we cross a short lane of scrub, and then the path continues for some time across vast and partly overgrown karst meadows. There is a short climb and the path leads to the next road, which you follow down to the right. After a short descent, we leave the road again and continue our ascent to the left, to the marked cart track, which we start to climb, first relatively steeply and then gently. The path continues along the edge of the undistinguished Ječmenovec valley, and at a higher altitude passes into the forest, through which it climbs to an uncultivated saddle, north-west of Laniška Peak (1236 m).
From the saddle, there is a descent to the nearby road leading to Vojka's hut, but we just cross it and continue along the marked mountain path. The trail soon turns slightly to the left and returns to the above-mentioned road higher up. The moderately steep path, from which we occasionally get some views, then alternately continues through the forest and partly along the macadam road. This path is then followed all the way to Vojka's hut on Nanos.
From the hut, continue along the marked path towards Suhega vrha. The path first crosses the meadow behind the hut and then ascends for a short distance. There is some walking with short descents and ascents to a grassy slope with a view. The path then returns to the forest and begins a steeper descent. After a few minutes of descending, you reach a marked crossroads, where you continue to the left in the direction of Suhega vrh (straight down Strana). After a few minutes of further walking, you enter a forest road, which soon leads you to a hunting lodge. Continue along the road, which soon turns off a steep path to the right. Continue straight ahead, and the road soon leads to a crossroads where you turn right towards Suhega vrha. The road starts to descend a little further, and then you see a marked footpath that turns sharp right off the road. Take the footpath and within a few minutes, a slightly steep climb leads to Suhi vrh.
