Gabonjin - Sv. Petar (Gabonjin)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Rupa - Rijeka / Rijeka or Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka, drive towards Rijeka, and from there follow the signs to Krk Island. When the motorway or expressway in the last part ends, we descend to Krk Bridge (toll 35 kuna - March 2014), then continue driving to Omisalj, Njivice and Malinska. The road then leads to the Plodine shopping centre, where the first road to Malinska branches off to the right, and we continue from here to a nearby roundabout, from where we continue driving towards Vrbnik. From the roundabout onwards, the road starts to gradually climb and leads us towards the nearby village of Gabonjin. Park a few 10 m before the beginning of the settlement in the parking lot next to the cemetery.

Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the main road for a short distance, and then in Gabonjin, signs for Vidikovac and St Peter's Church point you right onto a slightly narrower road that continues through the village. Follow the signs as you walk through the village, and you will quickly arrive behind the village at a well-marked crossroads. Continue in the direction of St Peter's Church. A narrow asphalt road then leads under a power line, after which you soon reach a right turn.
At the beginning of the bend, a marked footpath branches off to the left, leading towards the summit of St Peter's, and a few metres further on, an unmarked path towards the summit. Continue on the marked path, which turns right a little further on and climbs a little more. Continue up some steps, crossing a fence, and then join the above-mentioned unmarked path in a moderate ascent. Cross the unmarked path and in less than a minute's walk you will reach the summit of the viewpoint with St Peter's Church.
