Gosteče - Brunarica Osovnik (via Vidmovec)

Access to the starting point:
a) First drive to Medvode, then leave the main road at the Špar shop and continue towards the railway station and the village of Sora. In Sora, the road to Katarina turns first left, and a little further on to Osolnik. In both cases, continue straight ahead and drive to the Gosteče settlement, where you turn left towards the Avto Lušina company, and we drive another 100 m further to Darja bar, where we park at the end of the parking lot.
b) From Kranj, drive towards Škofja Loka, and from the outskirts of Škofja Loka follow the signs for Gorenjska vas. Before the Sten tunnel, take the exit from the roundabout in the direction of Sora. Continue through Hosta and Pungert to Gosteče, where you turn right towards the Avto Lušina company, and continue for another 100 metres to Darja bar, where you park at the end of the parking lot.
c) From Poljanska dolina, drive towards Škofja Loka and then along the ring road and through the Sten tunnel. After the tunnel, turn right and follow the signs for Sora. Continue through Hosta and Pungert to Gosteče, where you turn right towards Avto Lušina, and we drive another 100 metres to Darja bar, where we park at the end of the parking lot.

Path description:
At the end of the parking lot, continue left over the little bridge, then along the right side of the trestle and on to the beaten track that goes into the woods. Through the woods, the path climbs steeply at first, then levels out a little and continues along and along the ridge. Higher up, the path splits into a level and steep path, intersects a little further on, and rejoins at ridge Močerad.
The moderately steep trail then moves from ridge Močerad to ridge Vidmovec, where it also leads out of the forest. Here, on the right-hand side, following cart track, pass a nearby house, and when you get on the road, follow it to the right. Walk along the road for a few minutes, then turn left onto a footpath which crosses a slightly wider road just ahead.
Once on the wider road, continue left (straight ahead on the footpath to the top of Osolnik), and after a few minutes you will reach a crossroads where you will join the marked path from Sora.
From the crossroads, the marked trail to Osolnik branches off at a sign to the right, and we continue to the right, along the road towards the Osovnik log cabin. Shortly after the crossroads, we exit the forest and continue for some time with beautiful views and no major changes in altitude. After crossing a short strip of forest, we climb a small pass where there are a few houses.
Continue straight down (to the right of the Osolnik peak), then go left at the first crossroads to the nearby Osovnik log cabin, which is only a short 10-step walk away.
