Gozd - Koča na Kriški gori (Ovčja pot)

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take the exit Kranj - west and follow the road in the route Golnika. Just after the village of Golnik (more precisely after the village of Senično), a steep road branches off to the right and leads towards Zgornje Vetern and Gozd. Shortly after the village of Zgornje Veterno, you will come to a marked parking area on the left side of the road (the starting point for the steep path), and we will continue driving along the ascending road, which will soon lead us to the Shelter in the Wods. You can park in one of the two large car parks next to the shelter, or drive another 100 metres to the car park next to the church.

Path description:
From the parking lot, first walk to the nearby church, then arrive at a marked crossroads where the path from Golnik joins from the right. Continue left up the deteriorating road, which leads to the crossroads in a few minutes. Here we take the left path (Tolsti vrh on the right), which goes past the water reservoir and continues along the cart track. Just a few metres further on, cart track leads to the next crossroads. Continue straight ahead along cart track in the direction of Kriška gora (forest path), to the right the usual marked path. Here at the crossroads, a notice board informs us that we will continue along the path, which is exposed to avalanches in winter. Cart track, which climbs through the forest, leads us to grassy slopes after 20 minutes from the crossroads. There is a short climb to a place where the path leads to the scenic side ridge of Kriška Gora. Here we come across an orientation lop. Continue along the right-hand path, which climbs along an undistinguished side ridge on the southern slope of Kriška Gora. Slightly higher up, the path leads us to a place where we cross grassy slopes in a slight ascent, after which the path leads us into a short lane of a forest. Just a little further on, we come to a clearing, above which we see the route of a cargo cableway. The path continues under the cableway up to the hut on Kriški gori.
PS: In case any object falls from the cable car and injures us, the owner of the cable car is not responsible for our accident, as the notice board informs us that we walk at our own risk!
