Access to the starting point:
From Kamnik we drive towards Kamniška Bistrica. Shortly at the beginning of the valley, just after a large quarry, you will see a large wooden sign marking the beginning of the Koželje Trail. The sign points to the left over the bridge. Behind it, there are a few parking spaces along the dirt track.
Path description:
This describes an unmarked route through the valley of the Potoka. The valley is squeezed between Grohat and Hudi Konci. There is nothing in it except forest and a forest road. Even the Potok likes to hide among the stones in times of drought. It should be added that on some maps the Potok is mistakenly referred to as Grohat, which is the name of the hill that Calcite adjoins with its large quarry.
The valley of the Potok opens up immediately after the bridge. At this point there is a crossroads of three mountain trails. The Koželjeva trail follows a macadam track along the right bank of the river towards the home in Kamniška Bistrica. To the left is a forest trail into the valley of the brook. Between them, a less visible path goes steeply up the bank, leading via Hudih Konce to Kamniški vrh.
This time turn left onto the forest road, which keeps to the stream, goes from one bank to the other a few times, several trails or forest trains branch off in both directions, but it is not difficult to follow the main road. At the end of the road it is only suitable for heavi tractors and well-tracked goat-riders. The stream becomes a spring and when this runs out it is time to turn left onto the logging trail, which follows the adjacent bank in almost the opposite direction. We could have persisted in the old direction and followed the valley right into the cove, but there we are faced with a pothole and a rather steep bank. I have already tried this option, but I cannot recommend it because it has not proved to be a useful shortcut. We prefer to go left on a level forest path when the Stream runs out.
The path is level and when it reaches the ridge it joins another forest road. Turn right here and you are on the marked path from Stahovica to Kamniški vrh.
Leave the forest road at a faint saddle, just before the path turns downhill, turn left into the bank. The path is clearly visible. Be aware that we are already in the narrower area of Kamniški vrh, where there are countless intertwined paths and tracks. Make sure you stay on the most well-trodden and only marked one. Soon you will come to a crossroads marked with metal signposts. The right-hand path is the shortest and steepest. Unfortunately, it has been so damaged by mountaineers and erosion that it is better to avoid it. It is better to go straight ahead on the well-worn path across the steep southern slope. It leads us right to the top of the Roža peak on the saddle between Planjava and Kamniški vrh. Turn right up the ridge and you are soon at the top.

Discussion about the trail Iverje - Kamniški vrh (ob Potoku)
