Izlake (Medijske toplice) - Vrhija (via Podlipovica)

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the motorway at exit Trojane and follow the road signs to Izlakeam. Pass through Orehovica, followed by Izlake. As soon as you see a sign on the side of the road indicating the start of Izlak, turn right towards the dilapidated complex Medijske toplice, where there is a large parking lot. Leave the car here and continue on foot.
b)
From the route Zagorje ob Savi: Take the regional road Zagorje - Trojane through Izlake, turn left at the Medija spa and leave the car in the parking lot.

Path description:
The trail starts at Medijske toplice, where you turn onto the pavement along the main road and walk along it for a few 100 m in the direction of Trojany. On your left you will see a branch leading to the hamlet of Podlipovica. Cross the main road here and continue along this road towards Podlipovica. After about 5 minutes' walk, the path leads to a crossroads at the Sešlar cheese cottage, where we continue downhill, and a good ten metres lower down from this crossroads, we turn left onto a macadam road which, following the foot of Kalanov hrib, leads towards the Dry Stream. The road leads back to the asphalted road with a sign. At this crossroads, continue right (the path to Kalanov hrib via Okrog is on the left), in the direction of the Dry Brook. Here we have a view of Vrhija, which is straight ahead. The path then leads to the hamlet of Suhi potok, which is located above the Lipovica quarry. The signs on the house direct you towards the castle Kolovrat, so follow the road straight up. Here, you will rejoin the macadam road with the chapel beside it. At this chapel, to the left along the edge of the meadow, a path leads to Vrhija, which I recommend for the return journey from Vrhija, as this concludes a small circular route.
We continue down the dirt road until we reach a large meadow with a forest road leading up to the left. We take this forest road which, after a short entry into the forest, leads us back to the meadow where we have a view towards Borjam, Kolovrat, Kolovrat ribs and we continue along the edge of the forest to the left, where we again see the forest path leading straight up to Vrhija. Follow this road, which after a few minutes climb leads us to the top.
Once you reach the top, you can go to the other side of the hill, where you will see a forest path leading back to the chapel.
