Jablje Castle - Mengeška koča on Gobavica (lower path)

Access to the starting point:
a) First, take the Trstina bypass (to get here from the Tomačevo roundabout or Domžale), then continue driving towards Kamnik. Just before the end of Trzin, signs for Jablje direct you left onto a narrow local road. Follow the road to the hamlet of Jablje, where you can park in one of the car parks near Jablje Castle (parking is not allowed in the immediate vicinity of the castle, or only for guests).
b) From Kamnik, take the Mengeš road to Ljubljana. As soon as you reach Trzin, turn right and continue driving towards the hamlet of Jablje, where you can park in a suitable place next to the castle of the same name.

Path description:
At the parking lot we see signs for Rašica, which direct us to the forest road, which begins to climb gently through the forest. Soon the path splits into two parts, where you can either continue to the right along the footpath, or straight along the road. If you continue on the road, at the next crossroads turn right onto cart track, which joins the marked footpath mentioned above. The ascent continues through a dense forest, through which you climb on old tractor trains. At the crossroads, keep to the right, and the path, which completely lays down for a few minutes in between, quickly leads to the asphalt road leading from the village Loka pri Mengšu towards Dobene.
At the Ručigaj Inn, where you reach the asphalt road, continue to the right, and walk along the road to the nearby mountain direction signs, from where you continue up the marked path towards the Rašica and Mengeš huts, and after a short climb you reach the asphalt road, which you follow to the left. The way ahead leads past a few more houses, and then signs lead you right to cart track, where you cross lane of the forest. At the fork in the tracks, continue on the left, then walk along the edge of the forest to a marked fork, where you take the path to the right (Rašica on the left).
Walk along the road, which is mostly downhill, and then the signs for the Mengeš hut direct you left up a steeper track. The path quickly lays down and turns slightly to the right. After a short crossing, we reach the ridge path from Mengeš hut towards Rašica, and we follow it to the right in the direction of Mengeš hut. We then walk along the wooded ridge of Srednji hriba and arrive at a marked crossroads where the path from Kosez joins from the left and the path towards Gobavica splits.
From the crossroads, continue in the direction of the lower path to Mengeš hut (Koseze on the left, ridge path to Mengeš hut slightly to the left), where you walk a few steps further along cart track, and then the markings direct you to the left onto the forest path. The walk is followed by a few short descents and ascents, following the markings at the crossroads. After a few minutes, you will reach the next crossroads, where you will once again choose the path below. We then approach the macadam road and the signs lead us to the left, over a short, slightly overgrown section, and then we arrive at the next crossroads, where we join the ridge path. Continue to the right, following cart track in the direction of Mengeš hut, and the path from the forest leads us to a hayfield, along which we walk to the nearby trestle. At the hayloft, go left and climb into the woods past a bench. Through the forest, we climb steeply and then quickly reach the Mengeš hut on Gobavica via a short lookout from which the view reaches all the way to the Alps.
