Access to the starting point:
a) First drive to Škofja Loka, then continue to Železniki, Podbrdo and Tolmin. A few kilometres after Podbrdo, you will come to a crossroads where a narrower ascending road turns sharp right towards the villages of Znojile, Stržišče and Kal. Follow the relatively narrow road towards the village Kal, where you can park in a suitable place in the middle of the village.
b) From the road Idrija - Most na Soči, turn right at Bača pri Modreju, or left if coming from the route of Posočje, and continue towards Podbrdo. After Hudajužna, you will reach a crossroads where the signs for the villages Znojile, Stržišče and Kal direct you to the left onto a narrower ascending road. Follow the relatively narrow road to the village of Kal, where you can park in a suitable space in the centre of the village.
Path description:
At the starting point, you will see signs for Črna prst, which lead you past a water trough and some houses to cart track, which first climbs over a grassy slope, then turns into a forest, which you then climb through for some time. At a higher level, join a minor forest road, which is followed to the right, and we follow it to a marked crossroads at Sedlo Saddle.
From Sedlo, where the path from Podbrdo joins, continue left and follow cart track for only a short time, as the signs then direct us left onto a footpath that begins to climb steeply through the forest. Higher up, the path transitively lays down a little, and then leads to a lookout with a bench. A little beyond the bench, the path splits into two (the right-hand path is the more beaten track), and then after about 15 minutes they join again. Just above the merging of the two paths, you reach the next bench, which offers a beautiful view towards Kobla and the peaks above Soriška mountain pasture.
From the bench, continue through the forest for a short distance, and then the trail switches to the grassy slopes, which are becoming more and more scenic. Once out of the forest, the path slowly starts to turn slightly to the right, then turns left and climbs cross-country to the Čez Suho saddle, where it joins the path from the Bohinj side.
At this saddle, leave the marked path and continue the ascent to the right along an unmarked path that climbs the ridge of Rušný vrh. The steepness quickly eases and the increasingly scenic route leads us to a little-visited peak after a 5-minute walk from the place where we left the markings.
